This is your reminder to please let us know if you’ll be attending our August 11 meeting/social. We want to make sure no one leaves hungry!
We meet at the Bryce Eck Activity Center at 3880 Reed Rd with plenty of parking all around and across the street at the firehouse. Wine on every table, all non alcoholic beverages are available complementary for all. The Roberto Rando cooking team is excited to treat you to a great Italian meal!
Mary Derr, Assistant Director from Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation will also be our guest for the evening. The Foundation will be the recipient of $2175 raised from the Inaugural Italian American Golf Classic, to benefit their Down Syndrome unit.
Remember that we collect used clothing monthly for the Clark Runck Memorial Clothes Drive, a foundation we have been supporting. You will receive a donation form for your tax deduction.
Our annual Beat Michigan Reverse Raffle and Dinner tickets are ready with the event taking place November 22 at La Scala with the doors opening at 6. The $100 cost of ticket includes dinner for 2 and a chance to win $1000 to $5000. This is also one of our annual food drives for the St Francis Center, and the food collected is taken to Vinton County in time to be distributed for Thanksgiving. We ask that you bring a full paper grocery bag as your donation. Tickets will be on sale at our August meeting/social, as of now we have only 91 tickets remaining so please keep that in mind. We have a lot of people that support this event annually, further I want to get all the remaining tickets out of my possession on the 11th, so don’t get shut out! You can email me if you want me to guarantee you a ticket or pick up your ticket next Thursday.
The Neil Diamond Tribute has been rescheduled for August 19, 2017 and Ed Pagnanelli has agreed to help me with the event. Let us know if you would like to help.
We can now have our own BOCCE league! Those of you who signed up to play will soon be hearing from Tom Polito. We will be using 2 courts to play out the schedule of 6 games which will be played on Monday evenings at Rt 33 and Grandview Ave. The courts need to be cleaned so volunteers are needed for the task. Also, Michelle Messer is donating 15 boxes of crushed oyster shells to get the courts in top shape.
Further, Benny Nini is donating the balls and hopefully play will begin August 15. Everyone who signed up to play should make very effort to attend next Thursday.
Remember our guest speaker is member Mia DiRienzo who will enlighten us on the famous horse race in Italy and her experience while visiting there.
Last, if you ordered or want our first t-shirt produced for the Columbus Lodge, we will have them at the social/meeting next week, $15 each and they look great!
